Privacy Policy

Monkebius is a private household assistant run by one person on their own hardware. It has no public users, no sign-up, and no commercial purpose. This policy describes what it does with data from the single Google account it connects to.
What data is accessed
- Gmail — read only. Messages delivered to one dedicated Google account, so that newsletters the household subscribes to can be summarised, indexed and searched privately. Monkebius cannot send, modify or delete mail; the permission it holds does not allow it.
- Google Calendar — read and write events. To show upcoming events in a daily briefing and to add events on request. It cannot delete calendars or change who a calendar is shared with.
Where the data goes
- Processing happens on a computer in the owner's home, on a private network. The machine is not reachable from the public internet.
- Access credentials are stored with owner-only file permissions and are never committed to source control.
- Message content may be sent to a language-model provider for summarisation, under that provider's terms. It is not used to train models, and no other data is shared with anyone.
- Nothing is sold, rented, published, or transferred to third parties. There is no advertising and no analytics.
Retention and deletion
Harvested material is kept only while it is useful to the household and can be deleted at any time by the owner. Revoking access (below) stops all future collection immediately.
Limited Use
Monkebius's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Doing so immediately and permanently ends Monkebius's ability to read the account.
Children
Monkebius produces a reading digest for a child in the household. That child's own device and accounts are managed separately under Google and Apple family controls. No child's data is collected through this application.
